Another Reason to Hate Texas

Look, I've long suspected that Texans have foul judgment skills. I mean, the executions, the unrestrained ego, the Cowboys, the 31 statewide elected Republicans, but this takes the cake. SurveyUSA did a ton of polls on the popularity of all 100 senators, and who's the least popular senator in the country? That's right: John Cornyn. I mean, you send a guy to Washington to bring nothing new to the table, and jump onto whatever cruel method of discrimination is politically expedient, and then you don't even appreciate it? Assholes.

Thanks to DailyKos for the pickup.

Terry.
1. Executions- there are a lot of us here working to stop that. We're also not the only state killing people (unfortunately) so hate on some other states as well. Florida for starters, perhaps?

2. Unrestrained ego- just because your state doesn't have anything to be proud of doesn't mean you can be mean to my people. Come on.

3. The Cowboys- don't hate them. Just hate Jerry Jones. That's what the rest of us here do.

4. I'm not a fan of the 31 statewide republicans either. why do you think I keep running up to NH.

But come on- do you have to hate Texas? What has John Cornyn done to personally hurt you? Nothing. He hasn't done anything at all in DC, so there's no way he can hurt you. He hurts me, because it should be Ron Kirk in that seat.

Terry I agree with you. Texas hurts all of us, the entire country. We should have let them succeed when we had the chance. :)

Texas did secede as part of the confederacy, but the south did not succeed, fortunately. Texas was its own nation for nine years after a successful revolution fought by brave Texans in 1836. It became part of the United States in 1845, and later rejoined the Union during Reconstruction.

Texas does not hurt the entire country. A large percentage of the United States population resides in Texas, and Texas, were its economy counted on its own, would have the eighth largest economy in the world. Rhode Island has.... beach houses?

Sorry rachel, on this blog, what my sister says goes.

We've become so Republican due in large part to the infestation of our beautiful state by carpetbaggers. All you have to do is look at the most obnoxious of our corps of obnoxious Republicans Congresscritters and they all come from suburbs packed full of SUV-driving debted-out carpetbagging scum, Felonious Tom DeLay and Rabid Sam Johnson being the two floaters that rise to the top in this group.

The problem, in my estimation, is that y'all have unloaded all your undesireables on us!

I'd agree 100% that the people who voted for Cornyn are assholes. But therein lies our way out of it: These people are ignorant Dominionists and dirt-track crackers. They won't last; as long as Texas progressives keep working, we'll win.

And when we win, we will win..."we" as in Texas progessives not "us" as in American progressives. Texas gives our best and brightest to places like New Hampshire and Iowa every two and/or four years instead of being able to find decent-paying work for them in races here in Texas that could cut down on that sizeable Republican Congressional delegation...if any progressive outside of Texas cared. But no, instead they go where the national money is...to work and they get nothing but grief for being Texan, like the rest of us.

So yeah, some of us (like me) have a sizeable chip on our shoulders about being lumped in with the mouth-breathing fundamentalist blowhards who temporarily run our state they've infested.

I do like your blog...I just get a little heated about this particular topic!

"2. Unrestrained ego- just because your state doesn't have anything to be proud of doesn't mean you can be mean to my people. Come on."

WTF does Texas have to be proud of? It is a Beaner infested, mosquito infested, red neck infested crap hole. Wake the f**k up! Texans can't even secure their own border and they talk about tough? Piss off loser...and stop letting your states crap spill over into ours.
